New Business Education Programs for 2009

Following internal assessment planning, Shack Group hopes to launch its VET accredited Information Technology and Business education programs for first semester in March 2009. This will offer us new opportunities for internal training and branded growth in the educational market as well as bring us closer to our partners and clients. Candidates will be invited to apply for teaching positions starting from November 2008.

Our business education programs will be undertaken on two levels of focus. The first is to provide vocational training to students that supplement their class work by not only giving on-hands experience with the leading hardware and software systems of Information Technology, but also direct experience in business training and application. The second focus is on providing training for professionals already in the workforce who need to upgrade their skills and train in new standards. Working together, both in the classroom and in the business office, we believe these programs will have a lasting positive effect on the individuals involved.

Student Vocational Training:

It is well established that Information Technology is the way of the future for not only for global commerce and media, but also for education. The Shack Group has led development of web services, desktop publishing, networking, telephony, and server management in Australia for the last five years. We are happy to bring that experience to the classroom, offering vocational training to students in Information Technology starting in the Spring of 2009.

Students will be able to sign up in courses based upon their interest, and gain hands on experience with the latest technologies and software protocols. They will be able to apply their technical skills practically, both by working and observing how information technology is used in the global economy. We are planning coursework for students in the areas of:

  • Web Design
  • Server Management
  • Desktop Publishing
  • Graphic Art
  • Programming
  • Network Design
  • Telephony Systems
  • Animation
  • Ecommerce

Teachers wishing to apply for positions in these areas are encouraged to contact the Shack Group before November of 2008 for consideration. Businesses interested in hosting internship and work study programs in Information Technology are also actively encouraged to apply.

Business IT Seminars and Workshops:

In association with our vocational training programs for students in information technology, the Shack Group will begin to conduct workshops and seminars on location and in partnership with leading businesses in Australia to train employees on the latest technological standards. It is well known and accepted that redundancy occurs in the computer industry every three years, and a continual process of learning and training must continue for employees to stay current with the latest standards of software and hardware. To make this easier for management and staff, the Shack Group is providing in-house training programs for businesses across Australia in Information Technology.

Businesses upgrading to new network, software, and telephony solutions can request custom training programs to train staff in the day to day operation and management of the systems. Courses can be arranged in the local establishment or in a neighborhood location as is most convenient for the employees. Two hour daily courses, weekly intensives, and month long training programs are available to be designed around the needs of your staff and technology. Businesses interested in these programs are welcome to contact the Shack Group for more information.

Placement Programs:

One of the best opportunities for students and businesses is a guaranteed placement program and a smooth transition to the working environment for students learning advanced IT skills which are in high demand. The Shack Group can help businesses recruit the best IT talent, and encourages businesses to support students with scholarships, internships, and guaranteed job placement following the completion of studies. If your business has interest in the best employees with the latest skills, we encourage you to contact our offices for more information about IT training and placement programs.

The Shack Group plans to expand activities in education and Information Technology with the opening of a computer learning institute in Perth in the coming year. Students and corporate sponsors are invited to contact us for partnership opportunities, and we are looking for highly skilled instructors with business experience for our courses.
