Australian Data Centre Merger

The Shack Group has rolled out a 12 month plan to co-locate both of our West Coast data centers in Perth. The move will give the Shack Group a new opportunity to increase the scale and operability of security systems deployed within the data center. Drawing upon the success of 5 years of development in the Siphem and VPN divisions of the company, this move will also allow us to standardize and redeploy the applications developed by our branches into new versions across the network. This move coincides with our expansion into the European, Chinese, and North African markets, and will serve as a foundation for new services being offered internationally.

The development of Siphem as a leading credit card processing company offering merchant accounts with fraud protection and advanced security features has developed steadily over the last 5 years to the point that we are now expanding to new offices in London and targeting the EU market. Behind the scenes, the development team has been working steadily on the software that will be redeployed across the various divisions in the Shack Group this fall as part of our restructuring and expansion. Our design teams will now be able to offer in-house financial services for ecommerce to all of our clients, as well as the account security features which have driven the development of Siphem and its mission.

Our banking and financial sector relationships in Australia have grown from Siphem to form the foundation of a new division, CommerceBill, which specializes in ecommerce for Australian merchants. The servers at the Perth Data Center will be used to operate the credit card processing, account verification, and security systems of CommerceBill for the Australian market in tandem with Siphem. As the need for account security is ever more important, the merging of the VPN data center with our financial services branches will result in a close, professional relationship that optimizes performance and secure data transfers.

The new data center in Perth will give us a venue to host the services for both of these companies while developing new ventures. The space will also provide web hosting for our business clients, and shared, dedicated, and virtual private servers for public accounts through our subsidiary RackHost. Existing client accounts will be transferred automatically to the new servers at the Perth Data Center, and be upgraded to include the enhanced security and financial services.

Developments at Company VPN in data security, encryption, backup, and recovery services will become standard across all corporate accounts hosted at the Perth Data Center. Our clients at Perth Print Design will be able to include all of these features as part of their monthly media account management package. The Perth Data Center will also be configured with the latest software environments for Telephony, VoIP, IP-PBX systems, and CRM software. The security protocols that protect our clients’ financial data will also be used in association with these applications to provide an added layer of protection to corporate account data.
